Women’s Restroom in Church

Visitors to our parish complained about the women’s restroom in the church.  It was reported that the room is not stocked with TP; that the soap dispenser is not working and that there is no hot water.  Father noted that extra TP is not put into the room as people have tried to flush it down the toilet or it just disappears.  He also noted that there is no plumbing for hot water to the restrooms.  He reminded us that 2,000 – 4,000 people attend masses on the weekends.

People need to report deficiencies to Dennis or on the weekend to the ushers.  Susan Hamilton suggested that ushers need to have an organized meeting to discuss this situation.

Building on Faith Prayer

Maureen Peterson stated that one year ago we had prayer cards.  She suggested that we need a shorter prayer.  We are not consistently praying the prayer.  Father stated that he would speak to Father Oscar so they will remember to pray the prayer.  One of the pillars of Stewardship is prayer.  The Building on Faith prayer is a community prayer.  Private prayers may be much shorter.

No further action necessary

Pigeon Droppings

There is a problem with this on the building.  Dan Behrendt noted that two weeks ago he rented a power washer to clean the building.  He further noted that Mark Boisbert from Canyon County Towing has a washer that we can use without cost.

November Calendar

Father briefly discussed the schedule.  Jim Daniels, a volunteer with St. Vincent de Paul for years has resigned.   Please pray for a replacement.  Matt Lara  pointed out the Knights of Columbus activities.

Building on Faith

Susan Hamilton noted that the Building on Faith Project must start in earnest again.  With all the collections on Sunday, people are feeling torn in all directions.  How can we get parishioners to buy in to the project and offer their time and talents?  It was suggested that another committee be formed.  However, Maureen Peterson objected saying that the Stewardship Committee plans on involving more people in January.  The Committee has a plan. .Don Behrendt reported that it is felt that St Paul does not have a welcoming atmosphere.  Maureen noted that the Committee will also be looking at hospitality.  A big part of this will be education.

Needs continual discussion and updates from the Stewardship Committee

Maureen Peterson and members

Building of the church building

Father briefly discussed the alternatives.  We have 24 areas.  We could sell ½ of the land to finance the building of the church right now.  We could start building now with what we have saved but that would mean we would go into debt.  This is not part of the plan.  The church will be built when we have collected enough money; the old church sold and with those proceeds the school will be built.

Collections

Father noted that recent second collections have netted $1,200 and $1,500.  The children collections have been lucrative.
