Back to School Picnic
Wednesday August 18, 2010

Lion’s Park, Nampa
Help us welcome our new Principal, Mr. Randy McCormick and our new Kindergarten grade teacher
as well as our new school families.
Hamburgers, hotdogs, and chips will be provided.
Families with the following last names please bring:
A-P Salad or Side Dish (with serving spoon and cover)
Q-Z Dessert (with serving spoon and cover)
Please bring your own drinks and chairs.
New and used uniforms will be available for purchase during the picnic. We will see you there!!!!

Summer Uniform Sale
Just a reminder that PTO will be hosting our 2nd annual Uniform swap and sale Saturday, July 31st after 5 p.m. Mass and Sunday, August 1st after 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. masses in Dempsey Hall.
New and used uniforms will be available for purchase at the sale. We will once again be doing our uniform swap – each family may bring their gently used, clean uniform items that no longer fit to the sale for credit. 1 credit (worth $1 toward purchase of uniform items) for each item brought in – credits can be used to purchase used uniform items OR up to 10 credits can be used toward the purchase of a new uniform item.
We will see you at the sale………

The Parish Vocations Committee promoted vocations in the school through a poster contest. The contest winners received a small gift. Winners at each grade level were: Sami (8th); Colin (7th); Olivia (6th); Macy (5th); Mary (4th); Cecilia (3rd); Grace (2nd); Madi (1st).

The following students placed in the top 10 of their events out of 36 teams! 3rd: Lucy Martinez & Cheyanne Metcalf (Write it, Do it); 5th: Michael Ressler & James Reeping (Anatomy); 6th: Kent Lovelace & Payton Jolley (Can't Judge a Powder); 8th: Michael Bassett & Kevin Niland (Junkyard Challenge); 9th (tie): Sami Rider & Savannah Temple (Disease Detective) and Hannah Symonds (Anatomy); 10th (tie): Jacob Bennett & Brandon Giannini (Ornithology) and Christian Rodrigues & Jordan Hardy (Junkyard Challenge).

Congratulations to Colin (7th grade) who placed 3rd (out of 100 students) in the State Geography Bee. Colin received an Atlas and $50. His top question was, "What country is landlocked and bordered by Lithuania and Poland?" Do you know the answer?
