The Knights of Columbus is a lay Catholic family fraternal service organization. Men wishing to join the KofC must be practicing Catholics and at least eighteen years of age. The Nampa KofC are members of the State and National KofC organizations and send representatives to the State and National meetings. The KofC are committed to Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism.
The KofC proudly stock a 48 x 24 building filled with medical equipment that they loan to anyone in need (one does't need to be Catholic), at no cost. Items include: walkers, canes, wheel chairs, beds, lifts, etc.
The KofC sponsors after-mass breakfasts three times a year for Vocations, Right to Life, and Habitat for Humanity.
The Vocations money goes to sponsor two seminarians. The Right to Life breakfast income is split between the Right to Life organization and Lifeline Pregnancy organization. In February 2011 they collected over $4,000 to be used for placing ultra-sound machines in pregnancy centers.
The KofC donates $500 to every house built by Habitat for Humanity in Canyon County; several KofC members also volunteer for this agency
The KofC also provides yearly scholarships to member's children who attend college or Bishop Kelly High School.
They also donate to numerous other charitable organizations, including RSVP in the amount of $1,000/annually. They work closely with the Catholic Daughters of America, Nampa organization.
The Columbians, who are members of the KofC, biggest fundraiser is BINGO. They hold six sessions per week. The Columbian's charitable organization "Giving Hands" gives $50,000 per year to St. Paul's School, and gave $50,000 to the St. Paul’s Building on Faith fund.
Spanish KofC: The Knights of Columbus also has a “round table” that meets once every two weeks for Spanish speaking Knights. They do various activities for the Parish and families.
