Building On Faith

St. Paul’s Steering Committee

Direction on Committee Goals & Agenda

In preparation for the upcoming Program Planning Workshops, the many volunteers from St. Paul’s Parish interested in the different disciplines will need to come together to form the various committees necessary to the success of our Capital Building Project.

Most of these committees will have nothing to do before the actual workshops occur on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, March 9th, 10th, and 11th.  For now, the primary goals of these committees should be:

1.      Meet to become familiar with the other members (meetings can be formal or informal, at a persons home or at the parish);

2.      Select a leader to act as chair of your committee throughout the process;

3.      Create a system to contact and meet with each other in the future.

·        Once your committees are formed, Attend the Program Planning Workshops on March 9th (Espanol) or on the10th and 11th (English).

·        Be ready to meet in the two weeks following the first workshops to discuss the issues that will challenge your committee and make your recommendations at the follow-up Program Planning Workshops on March 23rd (Espanol) or the 24th and 25th (English).

·        After both sets of Program Planning Workshops are complete, the committees will continue to meet as necessary in order to fine tune the design of the new church and oversee construction.

In other words, the goal of the early meetings is to get everybody on the starting line and ready to race.  The first round of workshops will be the starting pistol and we will all be ready and facing in the right direction to run toward the finish line, which is the second round of workshops.  If, after you have achieved the primary goals, you wish to continue to meet to discuss ideas, feel free to do so.  But, each committee must have a cohesive group, a leader, and a system in place by the end of the first workshops.

St. Paul pray for us!
