With juice and granola bars in hand, students listened to Nampa's Mayor read selected poems from Shel Silverstein's, Every Thing On It, and a chapter from one of his favorite book series, Wayside School Is Falling Down, by Louis Sachar. Mayor Dale is an excellent presenter, and his character-reading and the hilarity of the stories got us pumped up for another month of reading-reading-and more reading!
(How are you doing, Mom and Dad, racking up those minutes?) 

As part of the assembly, one student won a copy of Shel Silverstein's book and the school library received a copy, also.

Please bring your own drinks and chairs.
