Father George was born on March 11, 1953, in Santa Ana, California, one of three children
to Victor Gonzales and Sue Torres. He was a kind and caring person, who loved children
and was very attentive to them. He especially enjoyed the students of St. Paul’s School.
From 1971 to 1979, Father George attended seminary and studied theology at St. John’s
Seminary in Camarillo, Calif. He was ordained a priest of the Diocese of Orange on June 2,
1979. He served at the Cathedral of the Holy Family in Orange and at St. Barbara in Santa
Ana, Calif. In 1997, Father George came to Idaho for service in the Diocese of Boise. He
assisted as a priest at St. Joseph’s in Sandpoint, Idaho, St Catherine of Siena in Priest
River, Idaho, St. Nicholas in Rupert, Idaho, St Bernard in Blackfoot, Idaho, and then
came to St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Nampa to serve as Parochial Vicar.

Lord, you gave Father George, your servant and priest, the privilege of a holy ministry
in this world. May he rejoice for ever in the glory of your kingdom. We ask this through our
Lord Jesus Christ, your son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God,
for ever and ever.
